A MASSIVELY popular TikToker has been detained by ICE for reportedly overstaying his visa and was forced to leave the country.
Khaby Lame, whose full name is Seringe Khabane Lame, with an impressive TikTok following exceeding 162 million, was taken into custody by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement on June 6 at the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
The same day, Lame was given voluntary departure, allowing him to avoid deportation proceedings.
Lame, who was born in Senegal, was able to return to Italy, where he is a citizen and has spent the majority of his life.
In a statement, ICE said Lame entered the US on April 30 and “overstayed the terms of his visa.”
Lame’s TikToks include several short, humorous clips with the hashtag #LearnFromKhaby, featuring Lame silently reacting to viral videos.
His most recent story on Instagram shows him with a group of friends with the geotag in Paulínia, São Paulo, Brazil.
The U.S. Sun has reached out to Lame’s reps for comment.
