In a shocking turn of events, Nick Reiner’s hotel room in Southern California was reportedly discovered with bloodstains on the night his parents were tragically killed, as per TMZ reports.

Nick Reiner checked into a Santa Monica hotel early Sunday morning, with sources claiming he “left a trail of blood” upon his arrival around 4 a.m.

Hotel employees later discovered the shower in his room stained with blood.

Renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner, aged 78, and his wife, producer Michelle Reiner, 68, were found deceased with stab wounds at their Los Angeles residence later that same Sunday afternoon. Their son, 32-year-old Nick Reiner, was taken into custody on suspicion of murder the following Monday. Prosecutors are expected to receive the case by Tuesday.

Witnesses described Nick, who has a known history of substance abuse, as appearing “tweaked out” when he checked into the hotel on Saturday.

According to TMZ, there was an alleged verbal altercation between Nick and his father at a party hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien earlier. However, this account has yet to be confirmed by law enforcement.

TMZ reported that Nick never formally checked out of the hotel, and was tracked down by authorities roughly 20 miles away near downtown Los Angeles.
