On Monday, Texas officials revealed the tragic discovery of six undocumented immigrants who perished inside a shipping container near the southern border. The extreme heat is believed to have been a fatal factor.
The Webb County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that the victims included three men, one woman, and a 14-year-old boy, all found lifeless at the Union Pacific Railyard in North Laredo.
The identity of the sixth individual remains unconfirmed at this time.
Investigators have traced the origins of the deceased to Mexico and Honduras.
Five of the six migrants have been identified, and authorities suspect hyperthermia as the cause of death, according to KABB.
Preliminary findings indicate that the 29-year-old woman succumbed to hyperthermia.
