A Chicago woman has tragically passed away nearly two weeks after sustaining critical injuries in a hit-and-run incident in Humboldt Park, as confirmed by local officials.
The accident occurred around 7:56 p.m. on May 11, situated in the 3100 block of Franklin Boulevard, according to reports from the Chicago police.
A 45-year-old woman was struck by a maroon vehicle moving eastbound while she was crossing the street, authorities reported.

Following the crash, the woman was immediately transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office announced that the woman, identified as Lisa Barber, succumbed to her injuries on Sunday at Accent Care at Macneal in Berwyn, almost two weeks after the accident.

Chicago police said the driver in the hit-and-run crash fled the scene after the collision.
Carolyn Harvey lives across the street from the crash scene, and she told ABC7 the day after the crash that she saw police activity when she got home from work.
“I just saw the flashing light and the police in the boulevard,” Harvey said.
People who live in the neighborhood say the stretch of Franklin Boulevard has long been a concern because of speeding traffic and dangerous driving behavior.
“Cars don’t stop. Pedestrians try to walk across the street, but there’s no help to help them across,” Angel Rodriguez said.
Detectives with the Chicago Police Major Accidents Investigation Unit are investigating.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen a maroon-colored vehicle with possible front-end damage near Franklin Boulevard Monday night to contact police immediately.
