New Jersey nurse gunned down at work by estranged husband in murder-suicide: police

A tragic incident unfolded in New Jersey when a nurse was fatally shot at her workplace in what authorities are describing as a murder-suicide. The heartbreaking event occurred after her estranged husband allegedly ambushed her and pursued her into the facility.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office released details about the incident, identifying the victim as 38-year-old Victoria Alexander, a nurse employed at the Excelcare Rehabilitation Facility in Egg Harbor Township. Her husband, Brandon Alexander, aged 35, is said to have targeted her early Monday morning around 6 a.m.

Investigators revealed that Brandon Alexander had blocked his wife’s car with his own as she arrived for her shift. He reportedly entered her vehicle and left two suicide notes on the dashboard before the confrontation escalated.

The situation took a turn when a food delivery driver asked Brandon to move his car. This moment provided Victoria Alexander with a chance to flee, and she quickly ran inside the building seeking safety.
