The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says the woman who was between 60 and 70 years old, was shot in the head.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a woman was fatally shot at a block party on Jacksonville’s Mid-Westside on Friday night.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., JSO Sgt. Steve Rudlaff said a ShotSpotter activation went out” in the 1100 block of Grothe Street.

When a patrol officer arrived on scene, according to Rudlaff, they found the woman who was between 60 and 70 years old, shot in the head.

Rudlaff said members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department then arrived on scene and pronounced the woman dead.
