FHP: St. Augustine man killed, 4 injured in multi-vehicle crash on US-1

FHP investigators said the crash happened early Sunday morning, and two people in the SUV were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A fatal accident occurred early Sunday on Airport Road in Jacksonville, involving a motorcycle and an SUV, resulting in one man’s death and leaving two others with serious injuries, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to FHP investigators, the collision took place shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday. A 29-year-old man was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Airport Road near Duval Road when he collided with an SUV that was getting ready to make a left turn onto Airport Road.

Both vehicles came to a stop in the intersection of Airport Road and Duval Road. 

Investigators said the man on the motorcycle was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

Two people in the SUV, a man and a woman, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. 

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, FHP said.
