According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a significant accident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Saturday near the intersection of Butler Boulevard and Belfort Road.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A tragic multi-car collision in Jacksonville has left one person dead and two others injured.

The incident unfolded when a 41-year-old local woman was driving west on J Turner Butler Boulevard in the center lane. She lost control of her sedan, veering into the right lane while attempting to brake, and collided with an SUV carrying a 36-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the 36-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, despite receiving medical care. Meanwhile, the man sustained only minor injuries, and the 41-year-old driver was seriously injured in the impact.

As a result of the collision, the SUV was propelled into two additional vehicles, though fortunately, the occupants of those cars were unharmed.

Troopers say the crash caused the SUV to crash into two other vehicles; however, no one inside them was injured.
