In a tragic incident on a Saturday night in Oakland, a juvenile driver allegedly caused a devastating crash that resulted in the deaths of three individuals. The mishap unfolded around 11:15 p.m. at the busy crossroads of International Blvd and 85th Ave, as confirmed by the Oakland Fire Department.
The collision left a grim scene, with three people being declared dead on the spot. Additionally, three others sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where two are reportedly in critical condition.
According to reports from the East Bay Times, the juvenile driver was purportedly speeding with reckless abandon. The vehicle collided with a parked car and subsequently veered onto the sidewalk, striking a crowd of pedestrians in its path.
In the immediate chaos that followed, the driver allegedly attempted to escape the scene. However, vigilant bystanders intervened, detaining the suspect until law enforcement officials arrived to take over the situation.
The fire department also reported that the alleged driver, along with another individual, suffered minor injuries. Both were awaiting medical assessment and transportation to a hospital.
