Emergency landing ends in tragedy as plane crashes on New Mexico golf course

Tragedy struck on Friday morning when a small plane crashed onto the Los Altos Golf Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The mishap occurred as the aircraft attempted an emergency landing, resulting in one fatality and leaving another person critically injured, as confirmed by the state police.

Responding swiftly to the scene, New Mexico State Police and Albuquerque Fire Rescue arrived shortly before 11:40 a.m. local time. They discovered two individuals trapped within the wreckage of the plane.

Despite the aircraft not catching fire, it sustained “significant damage,” reported the fire department. The severity of the crash was evident even without flames.

Following the incident, both passengers were transported to a nearby hospital. Tragically, one of them was pronounced dead upon arrival, while the other remains in critical condition, battling for survival.

Both of the passengers were taken to the hospital, where one person was pronounced dead, according to police.

The second person remains in critical condition.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) confirmed the plane was a Columbia 400.

New Mexico State Police said the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

The NTSB confirmed it will also investigate the crash.

The FAA did not immediately respond to inquiries from Fox News Digital.
