Tragedy struck a Dallas suburb on Tuesday afternoon as a gunman opened fire at a shopping mall, leaving two dead and three injured, according to police reports.
The alleged assailant, 69-year-old Seung Han Ho, is suspected of orchestrating the attack at K Towne Plaza, located in Carrollton’s Koreatown area.
Authorities have apprehended Ho at a grocery store approximately four miles from the scene of the crime. Police indicate that Ho had a prior acquaintance with the victims, suggesting the attack may have stemmed from a business-related dispute.
“It appears to be a known business relationship. We are currently investigating to determine his motivations,” Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arredondo stated.
In an effort to gather more information, officers visited an apartment complex near the mall where Ho was believed to reside. However, residents there did not recognize his name, according to the Associated Press.
Carrollton, a community situated about 20 miles north of Dallas, boasts a population of roughly 130,000, with over 4,000 residents of Korean descent, as per the U.S. Census Bureau.
It was not immediately known if Ho had a lawyer assigned to his case.
This is a developing story.
