A haunting discovery over Memorial Day weekend in the serene town of Davidsonville, Maryland, just a short distance from the state’s affluent Eastern Shore, has left the community puzzled.

On the evening of May 24, Anne Arundel County Police and fire teams responded to a car fire in the parking lot at 600 West Central Avenue in the small town, as reported in a press release.

Davidsonville is located 25 miles east of Washington, D.C., in the Annapolis area.

Anne Arundel County police spokesperson Justin Mulcahy informed WJZ News that authorities are probing into individuals present near the vicinity of the business at the time of the vehicle blaze, as well as those who visited the store regularly. He additionally urged the public to provide any information they may have.

“Certainly, any surveillance footage would be part of the investigation as well, or anything we can gather to assist our case right now,” he said.
