Outer bands could move onshore Sunday night into Monday, which could occasionally bring some areas on the First Coast heavy rain and gusty winds.
The First Coast News Weather Team in Jacksonville, Fla., has issued a Weather Impact Alert for Monday in anticipation of possible coastal effects from tropical systems.
Tropical Storm Imelda, soon to form, is expected to affect the First Coast and southeast Georgia at the beginning of the week. Winds will start increasing Monday afternoon, reaching peak intensity by Tuesday. For the latest updates on Tropical Depression 9 and the forecast, click here.
WHEN: Monday, Sept 29 and Tuesday, Sept 30
IMPACTS: Dangerous rip currents, large waves of 6+ feet, coastal flooding at times of high tide.
