U.S. President Donald Trump announced in a Truth Social post that India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire.

“Following lengthy discussions facilitated by the United States, I am delighted to reveal that India and Pakistan have committed to an IMMEDIATE AND COMPLETE CEASEFIRE. Kudos to both nations for their wise decision-making and exceptional intelligence. Thank you for taking this vital step!” the president announced in his Saturday morning post.

The two foreign nations are part of a select group of global powers that have nuclear arsenals, which makes the tensions between them especially perilous on the international stage.

Vance mentioned in a post on X, “Outstanding efforts by the President’s team, with a special mention to Secretary Rubio. My thanks to the leaders of India and Pakistan for their dedication and openness to negotiate this ceasefire.”
