If I had been, I might have been mowed down like this unfortunate lady.
In an attempt to put the president in an awkward position after a ceremony for the swearing-in of new U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro, Megan Casella from CNBC questioned, “There’s a term Wall Street analysts are using called the ‘TACO trade.’ It’s said that Trump frequently backs down from his tariff threats.” How would you respond to that?”
She probably wishes she hadn’t asked:
🚨 TRUMP FAKE NEWS SMACKDOWN: He has to explain Art of the Deal over and over again!
REPORTER: People say, ‘Trump always chickens out on his tariffs.’
TRUMP: “You ask a nasty question like that? It’s called NEGOTIATION.”
“Don’t ever say what you said. That’s a NASTY question.”… pic.twitter.com/JN0ehIEIa5

Trump thought about it for a brief moment, then brought her a hard dose of reality:
Isn’t that nice? I chickened out? I’ve never heard that.
Are you referring to how I negotiated China’s tariffs down from 145 percent to 100, then to a lower figure? And I specified that they needed to open up their entire market?”
And do you mean because I imposed a 50 percent tariff on the European Union? They immediately reached out, requesting an urgent meeting, saying, please, let’s meet right now? I then responded by setting a deadline of… July 9th?
[…]
You call that chickening out? Because we have $14 trillion now invested, committed to investing, when Biden didn’t have practically anything. This country was dying.
