Hillary Clinton Issues Pugnacious Statement As Oversight Committee Grills Her at Epstein Hearing

After prolonged negotiations, Hillary Clinton, the former First Lady and Secretary of State, will testify today before the House Oversight Committee regarding her knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s illicit activities. Epstein, a convicted sex offender, has been a figure of significant controversy and speculation.

Interestingly, the session is not taking place in the usual Capitol hearing rooms. Instead, committee members have traveled to Clinton’s residence in Chappaqua, New York, a short drive north of New York City. The hearing is set at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center, adding a unique twist to the proceedings.

Later this week, the spotlight will shift to her husband, former President Bill Clinton. He is scheduled to face questioning on Friday concerning his interactions with Epstein, which have drawn considerable attention and scrutiny.

There’s curiosity about whether Bill Clinton will revisit his infamous parsing of language when questioned.

Representative James Comer emphasized that the current focus is not on accusing the Clintons of any misconduct. “They will receive due process,” he stated. “Our aim is to uncover various aspects of Epstein’s operations through this investigation,” he added.

Former President Bill Clinton will sit for a deposition at the same location on Friday, and many members of the Oversight panel will be grilling the first couple.

“No one’s accusing, at this moment, the Clintons of any wrongdoing. They’re going to have due process,” Comer said. “But we have a lot of questions, and the purpose of the whole investigation is to try to understand, many things about Epstein.”

Hillary set the hostile tone Thursday before questioning even began, issuing a lengthy four-page statement assuring legislators she knew nothing helpful and blasting them for daring to look into her family’s ties with Epstein.

The Committee justified its subpoena to me based on its assumption that I have information regarding the investigations into the criminal activities of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Let me be as clear as I can. I do not.

As I stated in my sworn declaration on January 13, I had no idea about their criminal activities. I do not recall ever encountering Mr. Epstein. I never flew on his plane or visited his island, homes or offices. I have nothing to add to that.

It’s typical Mrs. Clinton to whine about transparency when she and Bill did everything in their power to avoid testifying and are now only doing so because Comer was about to force a vote holding them in contempt of Congress, and the tea leaves were indicating that such a vote would be successful.

Her pugnacious statement continued, veering off into a long discussion about her efforts to combat sex trafficking around the world. She then accuses the committee and the Trump administration of a giant cover-up, despite the fact that the FBI released the Epstein files (which mostly destroyed the reputations of Democrat politicians, business leaders, and European politicians).

Of course, it wouldn’t be Hillary if she didn’t try to imply that somehow Donald Trump was at the heart of the scandal, even when no such evidence has emerged after all these years. A real investigation “would get to the bottom of reports that DOJ withheld FBI interviews in which a survivor accuses President Trump of heinous crimes,” she wrote.

A real investigation would also find out what Bill was doing on Epstein’s plane, dubbed the “Lolita Express,” and if he frolicked on the pedophile’s infamous island.

I, for one, would love to sit in on this hearing. It sounds like there’s almost certain to be fireworks.
