WASHINGTON — In a stark ultimatum, President Trump has warned that “a whole civilization will die tonight” if Iran fails to reach an agreement by his 8 p.m. ET deadline. The warning suggests impending attacks on Iran’s infrastructure, including its bridges and power plants, if no deal is struck.
“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” Trump stated on Truth Social on Tuesday, conveying a somber message.
He continued, “However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World.”
This new threat to Iran follows a previous warning from Trump on Sunday. He urged Iran’s leadership to “Open the F—in’ Strait, you crazy b—–ds, or you’ll be living in Hell,” referring to the Strait of Hormuz. This strategic waterway is vital as over 20% of the world’s seaborne oil passes through it annually.
If Iran does not comply with the deadline, Trump has ominously dubbed Tuesday “Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one,” indicating potential military action.
In an interview with Axios, Trump revealed that he believed a deal was within reach until Iran proposed meeting in five days, which led him to question Tehran’s commitment to the negotiations.
