2 people, dog found dead inside Neptune Beach home: police

First Coast News reports the presence of multiple police vehicles currently stationed along North Street, as authorities conduct an ongoing investigation.

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. — On Saturday night, a tragic discovery was made when two individuals and their pet dog were found deceased inside their home, according to a Neptune Beach Police Department commander.

The incident occurred in the North Street area. Officials informed First Coast News that a family member discovered the bodies while checking on the couple. Both individuals were reportedly 77 years old.

Authorities have stated that there is no suspicion of foul play, and the situation is currently being treated as an accidental incident.

As of 8:00 p.m., the section of North Street between 3rd Street and Second Street remains closed off while police continue their investigation.

Officials have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat at this time.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit is set to take over the investigation.
