CHICAGO (WLS) — Authorities in Chicago have disclosed new details regarding an individual they suspect is linked to a fatal shooting in the Loop that occurred last weekend.
The tragic incident took place on Friday evening, near the intersection of Dearborn and Monroe, claiming the life of 14-year-old Armani Floyd.

Freshly released surveillance footage captures the suspect openly brandishing a firearm and pointing it at another person. The individual in question is dressed in a distinctive purple outfit paired with a gray hooded sweatshirt.
In addition to the video, police have unveiled photographs that reveal the suspect’s face just moments before the gunfire erupted.

The shooting unfolded amid a bustling downtown, as thousands gathered for the Millennium Park Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.
Floyd’s untimely death has been associated with what has been described as a ‘teen takeover’ event.

Police say there were two separate shootings that night. The one that killed Floyd near Dearborn and Monroe.
And another right outside the Chicago Theater which left another seven teens injured.
Floyd was killed a couple of weeks before his 15th birthday.
His family is remembering him as a kind person and a good student.
A reward of up to $15,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest in this case.
