A chemical plant near Yazoo City, Mississippi, experienced an explosion on Wednesday, leading to an ammonia leak, as confirmed by officials.

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported at the CF Industries facility.

Governor Tate Reeves announced on social media platform X that Mississippi is actively addressing the anhydrous ammonia leak at the CF Industries plant located north of Yazoo City. He mentioned that preliminary information suggests the leak was triggered by an explosion.

“Thank you to all of Mississippi’s first responders and emergency managers for quickly responding to the leak,” the governor said.
