Authorities are intensifying their efforts to locate Morgan Geyser, the Wisconsin woman found guilty in the notorious 2014 “Slender Man” stabbing case. According to police reports, Geyser removed her Department of Corrections monitoring bracelet and escaped from a group home in Madison on Saturday night.

The Madison Police Department shared news of Geyser’s escape via social media on Sunday, urging the public to stay vigilant.

“Morgan Geyser was last observed near Kroncke Dr. around 8 p.m. accompanied by an adult acquaintance,” the department stated. “Her current location is unknown, and the police were informed of her disappearance on Sunday morning.”

The police also released a recent surveillance image of Geyser, advising, “If you spot her, please contact 911 immediately.”

The image, captured shortly before her escape, depicts Morgan Geyser, known for her involvement in the 2014 “Slender Man” stabbing. Authorities report that she cut off her monitoring device on Saturday night and is still missing.

In 2017, Geyser admitted to attempted first-degree intentional homicide for the violent attack on Payton Leutner. However, she argued that her mental illness was a significant factor in her actions.

She told investigators she tried to kill Leutner to please the horror character Slender Man and was ultimately found not guilty by reason of mental defect.

Geyser and her friend, Anissa Weier, were 12 when they lured Leutner into a wooded park during a sleepover in May 2014. Geyser, encouraged by Weier, stabbed Leutner 19 times.

Leutner miraculously survived the attack.

Geyser has been in custody at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute for the last seven years.

She was initially sentenced to 40 years in the psychiatric hospital and was permitted to ask the court to consider her conditional release every six months.

Police told local outlet WMTV that Geyser was staying at a group home in Madison before she disappeared.
