US shoots down Iranian drones launched toward Strait of Hormuz after Trump said 'we're straightening out a little unfinished business'

The United States military successfully intercepted and neutralized four Iranian drones aimed at the Strait of Hormuz on Friday evening, according to a statement from US Central Command. Meanwhile, President Trump, addressing a crowd in Wisconsin, mentioned he needed to return to address “some unfinished business in Iran.”

“Just moments ago, CENTCOM forces took down four Iranian attack drones targeting the Strait of Hormuz,” the combatant command announced shortly before 7 p.m. These drones were deemed an immediate threat to maritime safety in the region.

The US has maintained a naval blockade around Iranian ports to exert economic pressure. In response, Tehran has halted maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz since the US and Israel commenced their conflict with Iran on February 28.

Following the drone incident, CENTCOM reported that US military forces conducted strikes on “Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island” to prevent any further assaults.

CENTCOM emphasized that American forces remain vigilant and prepared to defend against any unwarranted Iranian aggression.

The statement came shortly after Trump told speakers at his economic event in Wisconsin they would have to be quick.

“We’ll go pretty quickly, because I have to get back to fighting a war, Iran,” he said.
