A chaotic night in West Hollywood prompted a major emergency response after a barefoot man behaving erratically drew police, firefighters and paramedics to the area.
Video filmed after dark shows the man, wearing shorts and no shoes, rolling on the pavement and crawling along Santa Monica Boulevard as first responders worked to manage the scene.
“Last night someone’s friend was roaming WeHo blasted with no shoes on,” one account wrote while describing the disruptive episode.
In one tense moment captured on camera, the man appears to throw himself onto the ground in front of officers as they attempt to bring the situation under control.
Officers later appear to grab him by the arms and legs and carry him away while he continues to struggle, losing items of clothing as they move him from the roadway.
The account that shared the footage claimed it ultimately took nearly six people to physically restrain the man.
“Last night someone’s friend was roaming WeHo blasted with no shoes on. First one cop shows, and then two.. This guy starts swinging on them,” the caption stated.
According to the same account, paramedics and firefighters were also brought in, and nearly six responders were needed before the man was finally restrained.
The man was eventually medically sedated, according to the account, but allegedly continued to fight and was later seen with a spit bag over his head.
“All I could think was, ‘This is someone’s friend and no one knows he is having the night of a lifetime,’” the caption reads.
The video shows several first responders surrounding the man as the incident continues amid flashing emergency lights.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the incident.
