Police in Cincinnati are investigating a viral video that shows what appears to be a violent brawl in the downtown section of the city.

On Friday night, a fight occurred between Elm and Fourth Streets, as reported by FOX 19 in Cincinnati. Multiple videos of the incident have circulated on social media.

A man wearing a white t-shirt is seen being pushed to the ground by two other men and subsequently beaten. The video then depicts additional people in the crowd, including women, joining in the assault. The man’s head appears to be stomped on repeatedly.

The man continued to be battered for about 50 seconds before he was helped back onto his feet.

Cincinnati police Chief Teresa Theetge called a brawl in downtown Cincinnati nothing short of cruel, and absolutely unacceptable. (WXIX)

“The behavior displayed is nothing short of cruel and absolutely unacceptable,” she stated. “Our investigative team is working diligently to identify every individual involved in causing harm. It’s also important to clarify: this was a sudden dispute between individuals following a verbal altercation.”

Over the weekend, Cincinnati hosted a music fest, and Chief Theetge said the fight was “not connected in any way” to the festival.

She asked anyone with information to contact the police department or call Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.

Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who was born in Cincinnati, said in a post on X on Saturday that “reckless violence has no place in Ohio.”

“Restoring law & order on our streets shouldn’t be a partisan issue,” he said. “I invite @amyactonoh & other Democrat leaders in our state to join us in condemning this kind of violence and supporting stronger law enforcement in our cities.”
