WALMART has fired back at calls for a nationwide boycott of the retail chain.
Shoppers are pausing their spending at Walmart, Target, and McDonald’s from May 20 to 26 due to raised prices.
Customers are lashing out at Walmart’s skyrocketing costs following another week-long boycott in April.
When asked for comment, Walmart issued the same statement they gave out last month.
“As one of the nation’s leading corporate taxpayers, we not only contribute our fair share but also act as a significant economic force, enhancing communities nationwide. This includes job creation, supporting supplier expansion, and providing over $1.7 billion in donations, both cash and in-kind, last year,” a Walmart representative stated to USA Today.
“Our commitment is unwavering to serve all Americans while dedicating our time and resources to initiatives that uplift and bring together communities that depend on us daily.”
Shoppers are also protesting against Walmart and Target for rolling back diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts starting last year.
