Looks like Don Lemon just can’t manage to hold it together at CNN anymore.
As I’ve reported in the past, he’s had two public meltdowns over the past couple of months. In one he screamed at his co-host Kaitlan Collins and so upset her that she ran out of the studio. In the next, he flipped out at staffers because they covered him yelling at Collins in the company newsletter, according to reports. CEO Chris Licht had to tell him through producers to “cool off” after the first incident.
But it doesn’t appear as though that advice has fully been absorbed by Lemon yet.
Lemon went on another rant on air on Tuesday.
Collins had been doing an interview with House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) about his investigations into Joe Biden, Hunter Biden’s laptop, and the Twitter files showing that the FBI targeted stories related to the suppression of the NY Post’s laptop coverage. Comer mentioned the Post as a “credible” paper, as the fourth largest newspaper in the country, not to mention breaking the laptop story.

Comer spoke about the allegations of influence peddling involving Biden that have been a focus of their investigations and concerns that the classified documents might involve that. Collins said there was no evidence as to that with the classified documents yet. Comer acknowledged that while there was evidence of using the Biden name and influence peddling, they didn’t have evidence yet that the classified documents were related to the influence peddling, but said they were investigating.
But then after Collins wrapped the interview and threw it back to the studio, to her co-hosts Don Lemon and Poppy Harlow, Lemon just won’t let the things about the interview he didn’t like.
“That’s going to be—that’s the time we’re in where facts are sort of flexible,” Lemon said.
Harlow tried to move things along saying that’s why they had Collins fact-checking in real-time (although Comer hadn’t said anything that wasn’t true).
However, Lemon continued to blow up at Comer and the NY Post, “Citing uncredible sources like citing the New York Post as a credible source and saying that facts are — it’s just — I can’t believe that we’re here.”
Don works for CNN — when the NY Post was breaking real news on the laptop, they were pushing it was “Russian disinformation.” So maybe they’re the last people to attack anyone for not being “credible,” particularly when it comes to the topic of the laptop or Biden investigations? Does Don understand how ridiculous he looks when he goes down this road?
Harlow had the sense to know he was going over the edge into his leftist mantra. She tried to go past it to cut to the commercial, “Kaitlan, that was a great interview. Alright, moving on.”
But Lemon interrupted her and said to hold the commercial. Then he tried to deflect from all the Biden scandal by attacking Republicans as “election deniers,” including going after Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), claiming that there was no “shared reality.”
Anyway, not moving on because, listen, that’s a big issue when it comes — hold on, please, with the music. That’s a big issue when it comes to the American people. The American people are going to have to suffer through all of this stuff from election deniers to people who don’t believe in facts, we don’t have a shared reality and now it’s taking center stage too, people like Marjorie Taylor Greene, an election denier, a conspiracy theorist, a Q-anon influencer or supporter presiding over the House of Representatives. It’s a sad day for America when it happens and a sad time for us when we have to deal with that.
So if Chris Licht thought that he was gaining any ground at turning CNN back into a news network, Lemon just showed Licht for the third time in as many months that he is a big, continuing problem.
