On Friday evening, President Donald Trump sat down for a wide-ranging interview on his second administration with Newsmax’s Rob Finnerty.
In one segment, the president addresses a question about the legacy media’s rampant speculation regarding his potential pardoning or commuting the prison sentences of several recent notable cases: Sean “Diddy” Combs, Ghislaine Maxwell, and former Rep. George Santos (R-NJ). I’ll quickly gloss over the latter two since President Trump informed the interviewer that he hasn’t devoted much consideration to their cases.
Regarding Santos, Trump remarked, “He lied like hell,” adding that although he didn’t personally know the former congressman, and “might have met him,” Santos was “100 percent for Trump.” The president criticized “the other side” and the media for not making more efforts to uncover Santos’ alleged wrongdoing prior to his election. He further noted that no one has approached him to request a pardon for Santos.
