Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is intent on digging the hole deeper when it comes to his shutdown.
He made a damning admission about his government shutdown, claiming, “Every day it gets better for us.”
According to him, politically, the Democrats seem in a favorable spot, holding their ground and showing indifference to how the shutdown might impact Americans, including withholding pay from military personnel, while Schumer continues to receive his.
He got ripped to shreds, and justifiably so, by Republicans, including by President Donald Trump.
It’s audacious of him to criticize Johnson on healthcare when the Democrats aim to provide healthcare for undocumented immigrants. These radical policies are what put Americans at risk. The more Schumer fights to prolong this, the clearer it becomes how much value he places on undocumented immigrants over citizens. Democrats appear indifferent to the American lives lost because of policy on illegal aliens.
The issue is that they lack a factual and logical explanation for why their stance is beneficial for Americans, simply because it isn’t. They keep recycling the same, outdated arguments they’ve been using for years. It seems unlikely that people are convinced by Schumer’s arguments.
There’s nothing to negotiate. It’s a clean CR. Pass it, or you, the Democrats, continue to own all the consequences. You can’t blame anyone else.
