GLASSBORO, N.J. — Authorities are on the hunt for two individuals who were involved in a brawl that resulted in an officer being struck by a chair in a vibrant college town in New Jersey.

Police in Glassboro have shared surveillance footage captured from a Domino’s located on Rowan Boulevard. The incident unfolded in the early hours of Halloween, around 2:45 a.m., during what they describe as a large altercation.

The footage reveals a bustling dining area, with many patrons still donning their Halloween costumes, setting a surreal backdrop for the chaos that ensued.

According to the police, while officers were in the process of making an arrest, two men hurled a chair, striking an officer in the back of the head. The authorities are now seeking public assistance to identify these two individuals.

In light of the incident, senior student Ruth Wozniak commented on the situation, saying, “It’s college. It’s normal at this point.” This occurrence took place near Rowan University, and as reported by ABC’s Philadelphia affiliate WPVI, the students expressed little shock over the event.

This happened in an area adjacent to Rowan University, and students ABC Philadelphia affiliate WPVI spoke with weren’t all that surprised.

Freshman Destiny Edwards was heading to Rowan Boulevard to get some food early Saturday when she encountered a lot of police.

“They had cop cars all the way down here. Like you couldn’t get down here. Just very crowded,” said Edwards.

She and other students say Rowan Boulevard is frequently full of crowds on weekends and holidays, and it’s often a mix of Rowan students and others.

Fultoo Biryani House across the street closes at midnight, but employees still worry about the effect this will have on business.

“If we are planning to open midnight or past midnight, then we have to talk about it because crime and safety of customers. It’s very concerning,” said Jenis Prajabati, who works at Fultoo Biryani House.

Students we spoke with hope the people involved are caught, and hope they continue to see patrols at night.

“What they can do — just find the person that did it to make sure stuff like that doesn’t happen anymore. But I think them patrolling helps a lot too,” said sophomore Hajar McCray.

WPVI reached out to Domino’s corporate offices but hadn’t heard back as of Monday evening.

Police have not released any more information on how the injured officer is doing.

Anyone with information on the two subjects or the fight in general is asked to contact Glassboro police.
