Journee McGrew, 21, faces charges of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence, as she’s accused of killing 47-year-old Waduta Woodley.
A woman has been taken into custody on murder charges after a man was discovered deceased, suffering from “multiple blunt-force injuries” at a Jacksonville apartment complex on Wednesday.
Authorities from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office revealed on Thursday that 21-year-old Journee McGrew has been charged with the murder of 41-year-old Waduta Woodley.
Early Wednesday morning, around 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a call regarding a “dispute” at Cross Creek Apartments, located at 1441 Manotak Ave.
When they arrived, JSO Sgt. Dishman told First Coast News Woodley was found dead in a breezeway/hallway.
Detectives from JSO’s crime scene and homicide units then responded to the scene, according to Dishman, and multiple people were detained.
McGrew now faces charges of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
