Glynn County Police said the 32-year-old man was arrested on four charges of aggravated assault.
GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — A woman in Glynn County is hospitalized after being wounded by gunfire. She was with her two young children and another adult male when the incident occurred on Friday night.
Glynn County Police investigators said the man, 32-year-old Brandon Betts, is facing four counts of aggravated assault in the shooting.
Police said they arrived at the area of Mulligan’s Bar and the Royal Inn Hotel in Brunswick around 9:43 p.m. Friday, responding to a shooting call.
Police discovered the woman with a gunshot injury. Paramedics arrived promptly and transported her to a nearby hospital. She was subsequently airlifted to UF Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, where she is now in stable condition. The police have not released detailed information about her condition.
Authorities revealed that their preliminary investigation indicates Betts fired several shots from a shotgun aiming at the woman, her children aged nine and seven, along with another man.
Police found Betts later Friday night and arrested him without incident.
In addition to the four counts of aggravated assault, police said he was also charged with one count of posessin of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Additional charges might follow as the investigation continues, police said.
