CHICAGO () — At an Old Town wing destination, the flavor starts with what is brushed, tossed and layered on top: the sauce.
ABC7 Chicago’s Terrell Brown stepped into the kitchen for Cooking up a Storm with Woodie’s Flat, the North Side bar and restaurant also popular for its lively happy hour scene.
Located on North Wells Street, Woodie’s Flat keeps things fresh for wing fans by spotlighting a rotating sauce of the month.
One thing diners should not expect, however, is jumbo wings — and the team says that choice is intentional.
Nahuel Rodríguez of Big Onion Hospitality joined the show Thursday to explain the restaurant’s approach and share a signature wing recipe.
On the menu for the segment: Key Lime Guava BBQ Wings, a sweet, tangy and smoky take on a bar-food favorite.
