Tottenham fans have made light of their club’s deal to bring Timo Werner back to the Premier League on loan by sharing clips of him missing seemingly easy chances.

It’s safe to safe Spurs fans aren’t overly confident in the RB Leipzig striker based off the way they have mocked his squandered opportunities on social media.

Spurs have agreed a deal to loan him until the end of the season and he is due in London today to finalise terms, leaving behind Leipzig’s Spanish training camp.

One clip doing the round shows Werner blasting a volley far over an empty goal after being teed up by freestyle footballer Leon Street skills.

‘We have a cracking player on our hands,’ read the caption on the post, which has more than 600,000 views at the time of writing.

Another video gaining popularity on X shows Werner missing a succession of chances from close range in professional games.

‘There’s absolutely no way this doesn’t work out for us,’ read the caption for that clip, which has reached nearly 200,000 pairs of eyeballs.

In fairness to Werner, he has proven himself to be a prolific scorer in the past.

In his first stint at RB Leipzig, he went four seasons scoring at least 19 goals.

In 2019/20, he bagged 34 goals in 45 games as he helped Leipzig to the Champions League semi-finals.

He played in the 2021 Champions League final with Chelsea, helping them to beat Manchester City 1-0, though he didn’t score.

It is understandable for Spurs fans to be sceptical, however, considering he has hardly scored this season, suffered from injuries, and mostly been on the bench when available.
