Sen. Jon Ossoff drew sharp ridicule from several White House officials on Monday after the Georgia Democrat used a weekend campaign rally to take aim at President Trump.
Ossoff, who is running for a second Senate term, accused Trump during a fiery Sunday speech of being more interested in “build[ing] his ballroom and travel[ing] with Natalie” — an apparent reference to White House aide Natalie Harp — than carrying out “the job” of commander-in-chief.
The remark quickly sparked anger inside the West Wing.
“Jon Ossoff is a cringeworthy, feminine theatre kid cosplaying as Barack Obama,” White House spokesman Davis Ingle posted on X.
Ossoff’s past has previously been used against him by political opponents. While attending Georgetown University, he performed with a campus singing group and once appeared dressed as Han Solo in a “Star Wars” parody film, footage that later surfaced in attack ads during his first Senate campaign.
Ingle continued his broadside, writing, “Nobody gives a s–t what this lightweight loser says.”
White House communications director Steven Cheung also joined the criticism, assigning Ossoff the crude nickname “Jon J—koff” and calling the senator “the biggest cuck loser in politics.”
“Instead of denigrating hard working people serving their country, Jon should look deep into his soul and ask himself why he’s a miserable person who hates this country,” Cheung wrote on X. “It’s because he’s a radical, extremist Dumocrat.”
Ossoff, who is running against Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) in November and has been floated as a possible 2028 Democratic presidential primary contender, also took issue with Trump’s handling of the economy and the Iran war.
The senator accused Trump of “lying” the country into war with Iran, which he described as “uniquely despicable.”
“While the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings,” Ossoff charged, going on to slam the president for his frequent golf outings and accusing him of trading stocks.
Asked about Ossoff’s comments during an Oval Office event Monday, Trump quipped: “You mean Pee-wee Herman?”
The president has repeatedly likened Ossoff to the Pee-wee Herman character famously played by late comedian Paul Reubens.
“No, I would much rather do other things” than travel with Harp and work on the ballroom, Trump continued, before adding: “We are building a great facility here.”
