Why Gwyneth Paltrow Approves of Apple Martin’s New Boyfriend

For Apple Martin, life in the Hamptons appears to be every bit as charmed as one might imagine.

The 22-year-old, the only daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, was seen this week sharing a kiss with a handsome young man during a shopping trip in East Hampton, the exclusive Long Island enclave long favored by the rich and famous.

Apple is believed to have been spending time nearby at her mother’s $5.4 million mansion in Amagansett. The aspiring actress, who has also been in Hollywood this summer filming a new Nancy Meyers movie, looked relaxed as she wrapped her sun-kissed arms around the dark-haired man, who carried her shopping bag from the upscale pajama boutique Eberjey.

The affectionate outing quickly raised questions about the identity of Apple Martin’s mystery boyfriend — and whether the relationship is more than a summer romance.

The man by her side is New York-based Moshe Levi, who appears to be about a year older than Apple and comes from a “good family that wants to make a difference in the world,” a well-placed source confirmed to Our News Outlet.

“They met over a year ago at Vanderbilt University [in Nashville] and they have been pretty much in love ever since. They are cute together and seem to have a very passionate relationship,” the source added.

‘Apple and Moshe are deeply in love and really grounded in the fact that they’re both building an amazing future together,’ said another insider.

Part of the attraction to Levi was the lack of Hollywood gloss that Apple grew up around.

‘Moshe has studied business and he is going into philanthropy, so there is nothing Hollywood about him, he doesn’t even live in Los Angeles,’ said a source. ‘He lives in New York City and hangs out in the Hamptons.’

But he is already grown close to Apple’s A-list world. 

‘He has gotten to know Apple’s close friends like Sascha Seinfeld and Destry Spielberg. He has been floating around in her world for a while. Everyone seems to approve,’ a source said.

‘Moshe visited Apple on the set of her new Nancy Meyers movie Paris Paramount. He wanted to be there for her and says he is proud of her.’

According to insiders, the couple have especially enjoyed getting to know each other while traveling, with a string of jet-setting trips already under their belts.

‘He is very international, and loves to visit other countries, as does she. They have already traveled the world together, they have had trips to France and Italy,’ said a source.

And Apple’s family seems to be more than on board with the relationship.

‘He was at Apple’s college graduation from Vanderbilt in May,’ said a source. ‘He had already graduated last year, so he did not have a cap and gown on.’

That proved he had already spent time with mom Gwyneth and dad Chris, as well as Apple’s stepfather Brad Falchuk and brother Moses Martin, who were all at the graduation ceremony.

‘He already knows Apple’s family, I know he has been around them a lot,’ said the source, who noted that Levi has met the exacting standards of Apple’s famous mother.

‘Gwyneth approves of this guy because he comes from a good family and he has been around – he is not some dude she met in a bar,’ the source said. ‘He also has impeccable manners and has interest in business, politics – he is well read and college educated, and Gwyneth likes that.’

The source went on: ‘Gwyneth also likes that he is not an actor, just because actors travel a ton. Apple is the one acting, her partner should not. It’s best to have one actor in the couple, not two actors.’

A second source continued heaping on the praise: ‘Gwyneth and Chris think very highly of Moshe. They’ve both hung out with him on multiple occasions and they both realize that he is very special to Apple and they love that he is both well rounded and on a trajectory to be very successful. 

‘He is very entrepreneurial and speaks multiple languages. He’s almost somebody that Gwyn and Chris would mold for their daughter if they were to ever set her up with anyone. He is quite the multilayered and successful boyfriend that most families would fall in love with.’

Levi also has an international flair, of which Paltrow approves.

His family hails from Peru and Levi has already lived in other countries as he attended English boarding school Radley College, where he played soccer and cricket. After that, he studied at the bilingual International School of Monaco, which ranks among the finest private schools in Europe.

Apple seems eager to flaunt the relationship, as she has already flashed two photos of him on her Instagram.

In one snap, taken on a street outside a restaurant, Levi embraced her from behind – while another saw her in a red string bikini snuggling him while on a boat.

But the two still seem to be taking their time going fully public. When Apple attended an Estee Lauder event in New York on Thursday, she went solo.

‘Don’t look for them to go red carpet official anytime soon,’ said a source. ‘Apple wants to keep their romance under the radar for now.’

‘She still wants to keep their relationship as private as possible, but she also understands that’s going to be difficult given who she is,’ said another insider.

‘She isn’t necessarily surprised that people are curious about them, and she knows there will continue to be interest in their relationship and their life together. Just don’t expect them to be at any future Coldplay concerts, especially since her dad is one that is known to expose relationships himself.’
