They can still work things out.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman once found himself the target of good-natured teasing from his ex-wife’s husband, Paul McCartney, after repeatedly declining the rock legend’s invitations, he told The Post.

The former Beatle, who is married to Blakeman’s ex-wife Nancy Shevell, jokingly mocked the Nassau County executive for missing his concerts, Blakeman recalled.

McCartney later performed at Nassau Coliseum and invited Blakeman again. “He said, ‘You have no excuse,’” Blakeman said, noting that the nearby venue made attending especially convenient.

“I went to the show. I was a fan before he met Nancy,” he said.

Blakeman said scheduling conflicts had previously prevented him from accepting McCartney’s invitations, but the two remain on good terms. McCartney, 84, married Shevell in 2011.

“Paul is a very nice guy who is a good stepfather to my son, Arlen,” said Blakeman, 71.

Blakeman has also said that he and McCartney, whose political views are famously left-leaning, simply avoid discussing politics.

McCartney is a climate-change activist and a critic of President Trump. Blakeman, by contrast, is a Trump supporter who received the president’s endorsement and was described by Trump as “100% MAGA.”

The longtime public servant and Long Island native is running to unseat Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul in the Nov. 3 election. Hochul is seeking a second four-year term.

Blakeman first met Shevell while attending Arizona State University, before going to law school and eventually returning to New York.

“A friend introduced me to this very good-looking girl from New Jersey. We hit it off and stayed together,” he recalled.

The couple remained together for 23 years before divorcing amicably in 2009. Shevell later married McCartney.

Blakeman has said that “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” is his favorite Beatles song.

About a decade ago, Blakeman met Segal Magori, now a Nassau County Family Court judge, at a political event. The two immediately connected.

Early in their relationship, Blakeman took Magori, who is Jewish like him, to Israel as a birthday present.

“I invited family and friends to a birthday celebration at a restaurant near the Western Wall. There were about 50 people,” he said.

“I gave a speech and said, ‘I invited you all here under false pretenses. This isn’t a birthday party. It’s an engagement party!’”

Blakeman then got down on one knee and proposed to Magori.

“She was crying — I hope they were tears of joy — and her mother was yelling, ‘Say yes!’” Blakeman recalled.

Magori said yes, and the couple has been happily married for 11 years.
