LOS ANGELES — The much-anticipated moment has arrived as the 2026 Oscars nominations are unveiled today.
This Thursday morning, the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles is the setting for the live announcement of nominees across all 24 categories for the 98th Academy Awards.
Stay tuned to watch the live stream above as the nominations are revealed at 8:30 a.m. ET / 5:30 a.m. PT.
While most categories will list five contenders, the best picture category will feature ten nominees.
According to a recent release from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, a total of 317 feature films met the criteria for this year’s awards. Specifically, 201 films were in the running for the coveted best picture nomination.
The nomination voting period commenced on January 12 and wrapped up on January 16, as detailed in the Academy’s press statement.
No movie has ever landed more than 14 nominations – something achieved only by “All About Eve,” “Titanic” and “La La Land.” But “Sinners” could top that mark with a heap of nods for its lush craft, Coogler’s writing and direction, and Michael B. Jordan’s acting (it would be his first nomination).
Right with it will likely be Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another,” which has coasted through awards season as the clear frontrunner. The father-daughter revolutionary comedy could land 14 nominations of its own, including five or even six acting nominations.
This year’s Oscars ceremony will be hosted by Conan O’Brien for the second year in a row.
The 2026 Oscars will air on Sunday, March 15, at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.
Categories will be added and updated in real-time below as they’re announced live.
