Paramedics attended the property in Emerton in Sydney’s west at about 3pm yesterday after the woman was found unresponsive.
They performed CPR but she was declared dead at the scene.
“NSW Health extends its deepest sympathies to her loved ones,” a department spokesperson said in a statement.
“This tragic death is being investigated by the Western Sydney Local Health District and has been referred to the coroner.”
Police have also begun an investigation, NSW Police said in a statement.
It is not yet known if she had been vaccinated or had any pre-existing health conditions.
There have been 75 COVID-19 related deaths in NSW since 16 June 2021, NSW Health said.
There have been 131 in the state in total since the start of the pandemic.
NSW recorded 753 new COVID-19 cases today, as the state hit its end-of-August target of administering six million vaccinations.
