In-flight Wi-Fi has become a regular feature for many travellers, as airlines continue expanding their onboard internet services.
The world’s best airlines for Wi-Fi have now been revealed, with Qatar Airways taking the top spot for its smooth and reliable connectivity.
The rankings form part of the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, which recognise outstanding service and passenger experience across the aviation industry.
The results are based on feedback from more than 24.8 million travellers worldwide, who assessed over 300 airlines between September 2025 and August 2026.
Here are the airlines recognised for providing the best Wi-Fi and internet connections in the sky:
1. Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways has been named the world’s best airline for Wi-Fi
Qatar Airways, already renowned for its premium service and high-end onboard experience, has also established itself as a leader in inflight connectivity, claiming the award for the world’s best airline Wi-Fi.
The carrier operates the world’s first and largest Starlink-equipped widebody fleet, enabling more than 25 million passengers around the globe to remain connected during their flights.
Qatar Airways collected several other major honours, including ‘world’s best business class’, ‘best airline in the Middle East’ and ‘best business class lounge’.
2. Delta Air Lines

In second place, scooping up the silver medal, is Delta Air Lines
Delta Air Lines, one of the United States’ largest carriers, secured second place in the best airline Wi-Fi category.
The airline provides fast, free Wi-Fi through T-Mobile across nearly 1,200 aircraft—more than any other US airline—making its runner-up position an impressive, if not entirely unexpected, result.
Much of Delta’s strong connectivity service is powered by its Connected Onboard Platform, which supports a dependable internet experience for passengers.
3. United Airlines

Taking home the bronze medal is US-based United Airlines
United Airlines took third place, offering Wi-Fi on most flights with support for almost any personal device.
The airline also provides high-speed inflight Wi-Fi powered by Starlink for eligible members.
On US domestic and short-haul international routes without Starlink, Wi-Fi costs $8 (£6) for MileagePlus members and $10 (£7.60) for other passengers. Prices on long-haul international flights vary according to the destination and length of the journey.
4. Alaska Airlines

In fourth place is Alaska Airlines, which features impressive Wi-Fi
Alaska Airlines follows in fourth place, offering ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire network.
Passengers can use multiple devices to enjoy live gaming, messaging and high-quality streaming throughout their journey with Alaska Airlines.
Those travelling for business can also work as effectively in the air as they would on the ground.

Low-cost carrier jetBlue Airways is up next on the list

Taking position number six on the ranking is Hawaiian Airlines
Hawaiian Airlines offers free, high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi powered by T-Mobile, bringing it into the top ten airlines for Wi-Fi.
Mike Belcher, head of partnerships and business development at T-Mobile, said of the updated service, which was rolled out in collaboration with Alaska Airlines: ‘Bringing complimentary inflight Wi-Fi to more travellers across both Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines makes it easier to stay connected throughout their journey.
‘The new, streamlined experience for accessing Wi-Fi reflects our shared commitment to delivering a better, more seamless travel experience.’
7. Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines was named the World’s Best Airline, earning praise for its ‘dedication to customer service’
It’s not just the glamorous business and first class cabins that give Singapore Airlines (SIA) its five-star rating.
It has been named the World’s Best Airline in the Skytrax World Airline Awards – and sixth for Wi-Fi.
Meanwhile, Singapore Changi Airport has also won many awards for excellence in the past, such as Skytrax’s World’s Best Airport.
8. Virgin Atlantic

Up next in eighth place is popular carrier Virgin Atlantic
Virgin Atlantic Airways is no stranger to scooping up awards – this year, it also won APEX’s Best Overall Airline for Europe.
Free, high-speed Wi-Fi has been arriving on board Virgin Atlantic planes, with full rollout expected by 2027.
The British airline was founded by entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson in 1984, and connects more than 200 cities around the world.
9. EVA Air

Taiwan-based EVA Air fared well, coming in ninth place
Taiwan-based EVA Air has been labelled ‘five-star’ previously, and has now joined the top ten best airlines for Wi-Fi.
EVA Air offers in-flight Wi-Fi across all cabin classes on Boeing 787, 777-300ER, and Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
In fact, it is launching a promotion, from now to October 31, where passengers can enjoy complimentary full-flight ‘Unlimited Web Browsing’.
Skytrax previously said: ‘The seating, amenity and food and beverage standards across all three onboard cabins are very good, with EVA Air rightly attributed as the pioneer of Premium Economy class back in 1992.’
10. Emirates

Rounding out the top 10 in the best wifi list is Emirates
Finally, Emirates comes in tenth place for the best on-board Wi-Fi.
All Emirates passengers in every class of travel can enjoy some form of free connectivity once they sign up to Emirates Skywards.
The airline has earned multiple global accolades, most recently the 2026 APEX Best Global Entertainment Award and the Skytrax Awards for the World’s Best Inflight Entertainment 2026 for the 19th time.
