Ace Family YouTuber Catherine Piaz broke down in tears while addressing her ex-husband Austin McBroom’s cheating scandals in a new interview.
After six years of marriage and creating a successful YouTube channel with over 18 million followers, Catherine, 34, and Austin, 33, who have three children together, announced their divorce in 2024.
Catherine opened up about their breakup on the Call Her Daddy podcast, revealing how she learned of Austin’s infidelity during her pregnancy.
At one point her voice cracked as she broke into tears telling host Alex Cooper, ‘You never cheat on the person you love.’
Reflecting on the instances of Austin’s cheating, she joked, ‘I can’t recall the first time; there were just too many,’ eventually revealing she discovered ‘about twenty’ incidents.

Catherine said she found out about his infidelity after discovering a text from another woman on his phone, while she was pregnant.
‘I grabbed the phone. This long text comes through “If you really love your wife.” I was like yelling, screaming, “Tell me please, please just tell me who that was. I feel so stupid, just tell me. I’m having a baby, please just tell me.”‘
Catherine then adamantly denied Austin’s claim that she had given him permission as long as he didn’t ’embarrass’ her, stating, ‘I never, ever, ever said that.’
‘I would never want my kids to think that is okay, to cheat on your husband or your wife.’
Breaking into tears, she vowed, ‘And I will make sure that I raise them, and that they know that they never, ever do that. Because that is so wrong. And you never cheat on the person you love.’
At one point Catherine recalled feeling like she was being ‘gaslighted.’
She questioned, ‘Is he telling the truth? Am I just being all in my head?’
‘I was so afraid to say “I’m an idiot.” I just didn’t see it,’ she added.
Catherine also claimed: ‘I never heard him say the words “I cheated” until about a week ago.’
When Alex questioned, ‘How many more did you find out about?’ Catherine replied, ‘There was 20 or something.’
Catherine’s full interview is set to air on Wednesday.
On May 11, Catherine announced her memoir Dolores: My Journey Home: Finding Myself Beyond the ACE Family. The book, which also touched on Austin’s alleged infidelity, will be released on July 1st.
McBroom didn’t deny the infidelity accusations included in the book, but he asserted in a lengthy Snapchat video that Paiz was aware of his behavior throughout their marriage and that they stayed together for years despite it.
Austin has previously been accused of cheating on Catherine multiple times.
In 2021 he denied the claims, after YouTuber Tana Mongeau accused him of cheating on his then wife.
At the time Austin called Tana a ‘clout chaser.’
The ACE Family, consisting of Austin, Catherine, and their three children — Elle, eight, Alaia, five, and Steel, four — rose to YouTube fame for their family vlogs.
However, in January 2024, Catherine and Austin announced their divorce.
In their statements, both Catherine and Austin affirmed they had ‘mutually agreed’ to the split and would co-parent their young children.
In her statement Catherine wrote about feeling ‘liberated’ while Austin called the divorce the ‘hardest decision of my life.’
Catherine wrote that their ‘paths as a couple have shifted and has created challenges that are irreconcilable.’
‘As heartbreaking as this is, I also feel liberated,’ she stated.
‘I have spent the past few years prioritizing my children and honoring my commitment to my family; all the while I seemed to be losing myself and my own personal happiness.’
Meanwhile Austin wrote, ‘We created one of the greatest stories, almost a decade together, so many memories, so many accomplishments but every book comes to end.’
‘And now we will be writing a new book as separate authors.’
The last video on the former couple’s channel was uploaded in June 2023.
