On October 20, 2021, he was detained on sexual assault suspicion. He was, nevertheless, granted parole with restrictions until November 3.

Yves Bissouma Was Once Arrested On Sexual Assault Allegations
Yves Bissouma was arrested on October 6, 2021, for sexual assault of a woman. He was handcuffed and escorted from Brighton nightclub The Arch.
The midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur has been freed from the charge of sexual assault. Bissouma, 25 & a guy in his 40s were both arrested in Brighton in October of last year on suspicion of sexual assault.
Before representing Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations in January, the midfielder was freed while a police investigation was ongoing.
Despite being accused of a crime, Yves Bissouma was permitted to go to West Africa for a month-long international tournament when Sussex Police released him “under investigation.” However, after seven months of allegations and ongoing investigation, he was cleared of any allegation of sexual assault on June 29, 2022.

After Brighton rejected an offer from Aston Villa for Bissouma during the January transfer window, several teams like Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Everton were reportedly interested in signing Bissouma this summer.
However, the Malian national team player ended up joining Spurs. Tottenham had been eyeing Bissouma even before he joined Brighton in 2018.
Following his efforts against Spurs last season, Bissouma’s performances particularly pleased Tottenham head coach Conte. Yves will be in the ground playing for Spurs against Southhampton on August 6 for the premier leagues 2022/2023 season.
Who Is Yves Bissouma?
Yves Bissouma was born in Issia, Ivory Coast, on August 30, 1996. At the age of 13, he started his professional football career.
When Bissouma was 13, he was sent to a Mali academy, where he trained for five years. Later he joined Mali’s AS Real Bamako, a Malian football club, at 18.
Yves joined a French football club based in Lille and played for them for three years until 2018, when he signed a contract with Brighton’s premier league club.
In the Mali team for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, held in January 2022, Bissouma was selected and played for the Malian team. Bissouma participated in all four of Mali’s matches, including a round of 16 loss to Equatorial Guinea on penalties on January 26.
