Kimberly Guilfoyle’s arrival in Athenian high society was swift and spectacular, marked by VIP parties, rapid friendships with billionaires and a close association with a Greek pop star.
Yet some of the influential figures who welcomed Guilfoyle, 57, after she became US Ambassador to Greece late last year now appear to be keeping their distance following her embarrassing departure, sources have told Our News Outlet.
As her once-glittering social circle falls silent, traces of Guilfoyle’s high-profile diplomatic lifestyle remain at Jefferson House, the official residence in Athens’s upscale Kolonaki neighborhood.
Last Friday, a dry-cleaning van stopped outside the residence to deliver several dresses, a large Saint Laurent bag and a mysterious white envelope.
The delivery offered a rare glimpse behind the residence’s walls as questions continue to surround when Guilfoyle will leave Greece after abruptly resigning just 11 months into her posting.
“She was loads of fun when she arrived, and some huge names quickly became part of her orbit,” a Greek socialite close to Guilfoyle’s inner circle told Our News Outlet.
“These people turned her into a goddess, but it is noticeable that they are not making public statements of support now. They are scared.
“The story is going to continue, and no one wants their name pulled into it—even if they are a billionaire whose reputation and standing far exceed hers.”

Sources told Our News Outlet that several wealthy and well-connected figures who embraced Kimberly Guilfoyle after her arrival in Greece are now maintaining their distance. She is pictured out in Athens shortly after being named US Ambassador to Greece in November 2025.

Guilfoyle, 57, was seen partying in Mykonos with Bill White, the US Ambassador to Belgium, in July.
Among Guilfoyle’s prominent connections was charismatic Greek pop star Konstantinos Argiros, 40, who became a frequent presence during her Athens “nightclub diplomacy” after hosting her star-studded welcome party in November 2025.
It is not clear when the pair first met. Their friendship drew attention weeks before Guilfoyle took up the ambassadorial post, when Argiros invited her onstage at the Hellenic Initiative charity gala in London and danced with her to his hit song Mallon Kati Ksero.
In December 2025, he told Greek talk show Enopios Enopio (Face to Face): “We met through my best man. We got acquainted, and that’s when I realized how genuinely she wants to help the whole world.
“She is incredibly giving. What impressed me was the way she looked after the people around her.”
“That’s when she won me over as a person, without knowing her politics. She won me over in that way.”
“Later, we developed a closer relationship. She met my family and I met hers, and that is the bond we share.”
But Argiros struck a notably different tone this week after Guilfoyle resigned amid claims that she asked GOP donor Eric Deters for $100,000 to pay an American Express bill, along with other ethics concerns. Guilfoyle denies the allegations.
Argiros, who is married, appeared to avoid an opportunity to defend Guilfoyle when a Greek television journalist asked him about her.

A dry-cleaning delivery arrived at Guilfoyle’s official Athens residence last Friday, days after her high-profile departure.

A delivery worker was seen carrying a large Saint Laurent shopping bag, a white envelope and freshly cleaned garments into Jefferson House.

The garments were carried into the residence as questions remain over when the ousted Trump appointee will leave Greece
‘I haven’t followed it, the whole affair. I don’t know the details,’ Argiros insisted at Athens International Airport as he prepared to jet off for a concert tour. ‘I’m not saying anything, If you want me to speak about music, I’m more than happy to.’
Argiros’s mother-in-law, Miranda Patera, a socialite of considerable standing in Athens circles and from a prominent shipping family, also appeared to be doing a distancing act this week.
It has been widely reported in Greek media that Guilfoyle might be godmother to the newborn of her daughter Alexandra and the singer.
When Argiros was filmed coming out of a maternity hospital in June, he didn’t deny questions about it.
But when asked the same thing by a journalist this week, Patera steered away from making a comment.
When pressed, she said there had been no such understanding about Guilfoyle’s possible role in the baby girl’s life.
In the intertwined world of Greek high society, Argiros and wife Alexandra are super close to fashion designer Celia Kritharioti and her shipping magnate husband, Nikolas Tsakos.
Ironically, it was Guilfoyle’s closeness to Tsakos that led to ethics allegations against her – over trips with him on his private jets – and her eventual downfall.

She spent Christmas and New Year with the Tsakos family at luxury Swiss resort Gstaad, and the tycoon also reportedly paid for Guilfoyle’s accommodation at the five-star Four Seasons George V hotel in Paris.
In a leaked audio recording, Guilfoyle was heard describing their close ties: ‘I see Nikos every f***ing day… he loves me. Honey, I spent Christmas with him.’
Our News Outlet has reached out to Tsakos for comment on Guilfoyle’s fall from grace.
Meanwhile, the society blowback continues with a prominent Greek publisher publicly lambasting designer Celia Kritharioti for her association with Guilfoyle.
Stathis Tsagkarousianos, who runs Athens magazine LiFO, demanded of the fashion designer in an open letter: ‘Of all the people you could have chosen, what exactly did you find in Guilfoyle that relates to elegance? Is this person your ideal influencer?’
Meanwhile, another source has told Our News Outlet: ‘When Kimberly arrived people were falling over themselves to get a shot with her. Everyone wanted a piece of her.
‘She even became a household name for your average Greek, such was her impact. She was just known as “Kimberly.”
‘There was a pop-star quality about her. Now she’s persona non grata for many people.’

However, Guilfoyle is being given the benefit in some quarters.
Another shipping tycoon told Our News Outlet: ‘I’m giving her some time to collect her thoughts and come to terms with what’s happening before reaching out.
‘We speak regularly. She did wonders for Greek-American relations.
‘Sure she got her hands dirty and behaved unlike any other ambassador but, in the end, she became so much more relatable and human to Greeks.’
Our News Outlet has contacted the US embassy in Athens for comment, but they refused to give details of Guilfoyle’s expected departure or her whereabouts.
