MAGA Exiles Plot New Party as Greene, Carlson Turn on Trump

Several of Donald Trump’s most prominent critics on the right say they are teaming up as they explore the creation of a new political party.

Podcaster Tucker Carlson, former Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, outgoing Kentucky Republican Rep. Thomas Massie, and former Director of the United States National Counterterrorism Center Joe Kent met on Saturday to discuss the effort.

The group is made up of one-time Trump allies who have since turned sharply critical, citing frustration over what they describe as the President’s failure to keep key campaign promises.

In a post about the gathering, Greene wrote: ‘We said no more foreign wars, and we meant it and supported Donald Trump because he made that promise. But he’s betrayed us all.

‘Our commitment is America First for all Americans, right, left, and center. The movement has begun.’

Family members also took part in the meeting, including Massie’s wife, Carolyn Grace Moffa, and Greene’s new husband, Brian Glenn.

The gathering took place at Carlson’s cabin in Maine, where the group sat around a wooden table set with matching mugs and a plate of cookies during a candlelit discussion.

The rustic setting featured vintage shotguns and other weapons mounted on the walls, an American flag displayed in the corner, and a chandelier fashioned from taxidermy deer antlers hanging above the smiling group of seven.

Massie shared Greene’s post with the tongue-in-cheek caption, ‘This meeting will not be televised,’ despite the location being where Carlson films his popular podcast.

After Greene posted the bold photo, with Carlson smiling at the head of the table, she was inundated with a flurry of mixed reactions – with some supporting their new endeavor.

Right-wing media mogul Alex Jones shared the post, noting, ‘That’s a great group of Americans!’

Another user also appeared pleased, commenting, ‘The Avengers have assembled.’

But the group has already facing backlash from other MAGA figures.

Right-wing journalist Laura Loomer called for all seven to be put on a watch list for being traitors to the country.

She wrote: ‘Every single one of these people belongs on a government watch list. Every person in this photo is a traitor to America and an anti-Trump operative amplified by foreign adversaries.’

Meghan McCain, a podcaster and daughter of the late US Senator and former GOP presidential candidate John McCain asked, ‘Why does everyone in this photo look like they’re at Patricia’s Sunset Cocktails?’

Independent investigative journalist and podcaster Walter Kurt jabbed at Greene, noting: ‘You quit Congress in the middle of your term to get married in Vegas and go on a media tour. Why would anyone look to you as the leader of a movement?’

Greene resigned from Congress in January of this year as her spat with the President intensified.

She became close with Massie after crusading for the Trump administration to release its files on Jeffrey Epstein last year.

That effort earned Greene the scorn of the President, who has since referred to his formerly close ally as a ‘traitor,’ among other nicknames.

Seven-term Republican Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky was handily defeated in a primary election contest back in May by Trump’s hand-picked challenger, Ed Gallrein.

Gallrein, a retired Navy Seal and farmer, was chosen by the President’s political operation to oust Massie after the incumbent relentlessly pushed for the release of the files surrounding the deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and bucked the President on his signature One Beautiful Bill tax legislation last summer.

The race amounted to a continuation of Trump’s bitter revenge tour and underscores his unmatched power over the Republican party, even as his personal popularity continues to dwindle during his second term.

Kent, a former counter-terrorism Trump staffer who resigned from the administration over the war in Iran, raised eyebrows when he appeared on Carlson’s show days after his departure from the administration.

Greene and her now-husband, Glenn, stole away to Sin City this week, where they tied the knot in a Tuesday night ceremony on the terrace of the Bellagio’s Terrazza di Sogno.

They exchanged vows overlooking the iconic Vegas fountains and city strip.

The two had kept their wedding plans hush-hush, with a family-only ceremony and a marriage license they obtained just one week earlier.
