Brent Taylor, a 58-year-old Tennessee Republican seeking a seat in the U.S. House, has attributed his history of sending unsolicited nude photographs to what he called “youthful indiscretions.” At least one of the alleged incidents reportedly occurred just five years ago.
Taylor, a state senator, acknowledged that he had sent nude images after the Nashville Scene reported Tuesday that several people said they had received or viewed photographs involving him.
One individual told the publication that Taylor sent an unsolicited nude photograph in 2021, when Taylor was 53 years old.
Another source separately confirmed that nude photographs connected to Taylor existed.
“As I near 60 years old, the expiration date has come and gone on any of my youthful indiscretions,” Taylor told the outlet.
“Whatever story you think you’ve got, my wife is well aware of and we’ve worked through it a long time ago. My god and my wife have forgiven me, and I would consider everyone else doing the same.”
Taylor also referred to his past conduct, saying, “All I can tell you is, in the past, I’ve been guilty of being a rounder, back in the day.”
The term “rounder” is commonly used to describe someone known for frequent partying, drinking, gambling or pursuing romantic relationships.

Tennessee State Senator Brent Taylor was accused by multiple people of sending unsolicited nude photos as recently as five years ago. Taylor has been married to his wife, Kimberly, for over 30 years

“As I near 60 years old, the expiration date has come and gone on any of my youthful indiscretions,” Taylor told the Nashville Scene

President Donald Trump endorsed Taylor in July, describing him as a “Highly Respected State Senator” and telling voters he would “NEVER LET YOU DOWN”
The allegations have placed renewed scrutiny on the personal conduct of a Republican candidate who has portrayed himself as a conservative Christian, devoted husband and father.
His Democratic opponent, Representative Justin Pearson, condemned the alleged behavior as disturbing.
In a post on X, Pearson wrote:
“I’m disturbed to learn of Brent Taylor’s pattern of sending unsolicited nude photos to multiple women.
“The fact that he would dismiss his behavior as ‘youthful indiscretions’ despite it happening recently, in his fifties, & while he held government office is ridiculous,” he added.
“This is the type of predatory behavior that needs to be rooted out of our society and politics,” Taylor continued.
Pearson accused Taylor and President Trump of using their power to avoid accountability. He said Tennessee needs leaders who respect women instead of sexually harassing them, exposing themselves to them or exploiting them.
Taylor has served in the Tennessee Senate since November 2022. In August, he won the Republican nomination for Tennessee’s 9th Congressional District.
He and Pearson are running for a redrawn congressional seat that was left open by Democratic Representative Steve Cohen.
He announced last spring that he would not seek reelection after Tennessee Republicans split his Memphis-based district among three redrawn districts
Trump endorsed Taylor in July, calling him a ‘Highly Respected State Senator.’
Trump praised Taylor for his conservative credentials and pledged that he would work to secure the border, combat migrant crime, support law enforcement and advance the president’s agenda.
Taylor has also secured backing from some of the Republican Party’s most senior figures, including Tennessee Senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty, who have praised his candidacy and his focus on public safety and fighting crime.
Taylor’s campaign biography describes a family man whose wife, Kimberly, has stood by him through more than 30 years of marriage.
The couple have two adult children.
He and his wife live in Eads, Tennessee, and are active members of Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova.
