In an unexpected turn of events, rapper Nicki Minaj made a surprise appearance alongside former President Donald Trump at a Washington, DC event focused on Trump Accounts. Clad in a striking white fur coat, Minaj joined Trump on stage, taking his hand — a notable gesture given Trump’s propensity for hand bruising due to his high aspirin intake. The President commended Minaj for her substantial investment in accounts designed for the children of her supporters. Breaking from the script, Trump invited her to join him and businessman Kevin O’Leary on stage. Minaj, known for her typically bold presence, seemed uncharacteristically reserved but expressed unwavering admiration for Trump, declaring herself his number one fan. “And that’s not going to change,” she asserted from the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium podium.
From Queens to the Capitol
Minaj addressed the criticism she has faced for her support of Trump, stating it only strengthens her resolve. “We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him, and, you know, the smear campaigns – it’s not going to work, OK? He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him. Amen?” she concluded passionately. Trump, visibly appreciative, thanked her quietly. Minaj was seated beside Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trump advisor Alex Bruesewitz during the event, which took place in a chilly, snow-dusted DC. On stage, Minaj and Trump shared a handshake and stood together with O’Leary as he delivered brief remarks. Known for her extravagant style, Minaj sported chrome-colored, long acrylic nails, which were noteworthy given Trump’s history of hand injuries, including a previous incident involving Pam Bondi at the 2024 Republican National Convention.
Trump admits overusing aspirin to ‘keep blood flowing’
Trump has openly discussed his daily aspirin regimen, exceeding recommended doses to maintain blood flow and reduce heart attack risk as he ages. Despite potential concerns over Minaj’s nails, Trump was unfazed, even joking about growing his own nails to match hers. “I just think she’s great,” Trump remarked, acknowledging her support over the years despite the challenges she faced within her community. “Her community isn’t necessarily – I’ll tell ya – we did pretty damn well with your community, as we say,” he added, highlighting her role as a steadfast ally. Minaj was present to endorse Trump’s new initiative for childhood investment savings accounts, reaffirming her commitment to his cause.
Generation of millionaires
‘Nicki makes a lot of money and she’s generously stepping up,’ he said. He detailed: ‘She’s investing hundreds of thousands of dollars in Trump Accounts to support the children and really, the children of her incredible fans. That’s great – focus on that.’ ‘Why should you give to somebody else’s fans? Give to your fans. I like that,’ Trump said. The plan Trump set forward is meant to establish a generation of millionaires, according to the President. The so-called Trump accounts would provide children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028 with a tax-advantaged investment of $1,000 provided by the Treasury Department.
That $1,000 stipend could be built on with up to $5,000 in annual investments. If maximum contributions are made to the Trump Account, the projected value would be $1.1 million by the time they reach 28-years-old, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who is 28. She plans to sign up her daughter, who is due in May, for a Trump account. If a family made no additional contributions beyond the initial $1,000, a child with a Trump account could expect to have approximately $18,000 when they turn 28.
