A previously unpublished photograph appears to show a syringe inside the bedroom of Trump-backed Republican Congressman Max Miller, potentially undercutting his recorded denial that he ever kept needles beside his bed, the Daily Mail can exclusively reveal.
A source familiar with the matter told the Daily Mail the image appears to have been taken by Miller’s now ex-wife, Emily Moreno, inside the home the former couple once shared. If verified, the photograph would support one of Moreno’s most serious claims: that she discovered needles near her then-husband’s bed and documented them with her camera.
Miller, 37, has been facing growing scrutiny after Moreno, 32, made domestic abuse allegations against him — accusations he has strongly denied. In an effort to defend himself publicly, the congressman released audio recordings of private conversations between the two.
However, one of the recordings Miller shared includes Moreno confronting him over alleged drug use.
‘You’ve never recorded one of our conversations?’ Moreno asked him during the exchange.
‘I don’t,’ Miller responded, before adding: ‘I have never gone into your cellphone. And I’ve never gone into your computer. And I’ve never sneaked into your backpack.’
Moreno then acknowledged that she had searched his backpack, saying she did so ‘because I truly do believe you have a drug problem.’
In the same recording, she expressed concern about his marijuana use and claimed she had found needles next to his bed — items she said she photographed.

‘First it was weed, then I found needles next to your bed,’ Moreno told Miller according to the recording. ‘I took a picture of it. You can try to deny it to me.’
The discovery, she said, was ‘a huge impetus for why I left.’
Miller denied on the tape having any needles by his bed, using the ‘Jewish word of honor,’ and said he was happy to take any drug test she would like.
‘It’s not a thing. And you didn’t find it next to a bed… It’s not mine. I can tell you 1,000 percent I’ve never had a needle in my bedroom drawer,’ Miller told Moreno in the recording.
In another recording he released, Miller admitted to taking testosterone replacement therapy and claimed he had been open with Emily about it.
The image alone does not establish what the syringe contained, how it was used, whose it was or where it was found.
The picture of the syringe surfaced the day before an August 5 deadline for the congressman, who was first elected in 2022, to withdraw from his re-election race, which Democrats are now targeting for a pick-up opportunity.
Another picture obtained by the Daily Mail seems to show Miller smiling while holding a bag of high-potency marijuana gummies toward the camera, each containing 15 times the legal California limit. There is no indication that Miller consumed the gummies or that they were his.
The photos were taken during Miller’s romantic relationship with Moreno, a source familiar told the Daily Mail.
None of the images appear in court filings in the dueling lawsuits between Miller and Moreno. The Daily Mail has contacted Moreno and Miller’s legal representatives for comment on these images.
In the gummies photograph, the man identified by the source as Miller holds up a package of ‘Mighty Munchies’ watermelon rings containing 2,400mg of THC across 16 gummies at 150mg apiece.
Each gummy contains 15 times the 10mg-per-serving cap California imposes on edibles sold in its licensed recreational market.
The bag carries California’s cannabis regulatory symbol alongside a government warning that the package ‘contains a Schedule I controlled substance,’ a drug that remains illegal under federal law even as recreational use is legal for adults in California and Washington, DC.

‘I know Max, he’s a good person, I always thought he was a very good person, and I’m going to let the families figure it out,’ Trump said. ‘It’s a very sad thing. It’s accusations. And I’m going to let them figure it out.’
