Lionesses captain Leah Williamson stripped down to her underwear as she modelled for Calvin Klein on Wednesday ahead of starring at the Women’s Euros.

The American fashion label snapped up Williamson, 28, one of the most recognisable stars in women’s football, for their latest campaign and dressed her in a 90s double denim look, which includes their new Icon Cotton Modal underwear.

The tantalising pictures were captured by London-based photographer, Zachariah Mahrouche and follow the company’s recent trend of highlighting stars of the men and women’s game.

Calvin Klein previously drafted in fellow Lionesses star Chloe Kelly to model pieces ahead of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, as she was joined by USA’s Alex Morgan, Australia’s Mary Fowler, France’s Kenza Dali and Japan’s Mana Iwabuchi.

Williamson will lead out the Lionesses when they begin the defence of their European Championship crown against France on Saturday night.

Sarina Wiegman’s team enter the competition as defending champions but they are a much-changed outfit from the side that clinched the trophy at Wembley three years ago.

Williamson, who missed the 2023 women’s World Cup after sustaining an ACL injury, warmed up for the summer tournament by jetting off to Majorca with close friend, and former Miss USA, Elle Smith.

The two women beamed as they soaked up the sun, went paddle boarding and dined out at high-end restaurants after growing close in recent months.

Williamson and Smith have been sharing photographs of one another – including one where they celebrated the England star’s Champions League win with Arsenal in May.

This week, the defender shared the view that the Gunners’ success can help the Lionesses – who, in addition to herself, boast Arsenal stars Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly, Beth Mead and Lotte Wubben-Moy.

‘I think winning breeds a winning mentality – the consistency of it,’ she told UEFA. That’s what they always say, “To be great, you don’t just win once, you win twice,” and so on and so forth.

‘So it’s a really good feeling to bank and just have that, and I do think it makes you a lot more hungry than you previously were.

‘So I’m hoping that the experience isn’t going to be of detriment to us at all, and another big moment, a big opportunity and we took it, so even proving to yourself, I think it does a lot for your own confidence.’

Wiegman, who has won the women’s Euros twice, hopes that this summer’s tournament will be looked up as an ‘opportunity’ by many of the new faces in the squad.

‘Of course, we’re defending our title, but as I said, we want to chase more,’ she told The Mirror. ‘This is an opportunity, because if you see our group it’s a very exciting, challenging group.

‘From the beginning I feel like we play three finals straight away, so that’s what we’re going to chase for and show how good we are and that we can take our level to the next stage. That’s what’s necessary too, because the women’s game in all areas is moving forward so quickly.’
