President Donald Trump has once again criticized the New York Times following an embarrassing error in the newspaper’s print edition, where it incorrectly identified NATO in a headline.

On Saturday morning, Trump took to Truth Social to voice his disapproval, stating, “The Failing New York Times, with its diminishing credibility and ongoing Fake News attacks on your favorite President, ME, has seen its circulation drop significantly. They referred to our strained and unreliable ‘partner,’ NATO, as the North American Treaty Organization.”

He continued, “The accurate name is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization – quite an interesting mistake! The hiring and educational standards at the NYT have clearly declined. Let’s bring back ‘ALL THE NEWS THAT’S FIT TO PRINT’ and Make America Great Again! President DJT.”

The Times issued a correction on Friday, acknowledging the error: “We misstated the full name of the organization. It is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, not the North American Treaty Organization.”

This misstep occurs during a challenging period for NATO. Trump has criticized the alliance after several member countries opted out of joining the US-Israel effort against Iran and rejected his calls to deploy their militaries to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte is scheduled to visit Washington next week to meet with Trump and address the ongoing tensions.
