The high-society bachelorettes still waiting for Mr Right - from a Goldsmith heiress to Princess Margaret's granddaughter... as Italian royal, 22, and French presidential hopeful, 30, 'confirm romance'

One of Europe’s most coveted singles has found love. Italian heiress Princess Maria Carolina of Bourbon-Two Sicilies has officially revealed her relationship with Jordan Bardella, a prominent politician poised to become France’s next president.

The couple made headlines with their affectionate public debut at the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday. Their presence was marked by shared laughter, intimate whispers, and the occasional selfie, capturing the attention of the public and media alike.

Jordan Bardella is known as the protégé of the hard-right leader Marine Le Pen, while Princess Maria Carolina is an influential figure rooted in the legacy of a former Italian monarchy, with a family history that includes romantic ties to Europe’s royal circles, such as her sister’s past connection to Denmark’s future king.

While Princess Maria Carolina appears happily committed to her politically engaged partner, the European society scene still boasts a number of high-profile singles in search of their own fairy-tale romances.

Among these notable figures is Princess Maria Carolina’s sister, Princess Maria Chiara, who remains available at 21. Similarly, Princess Theodora von Liechtenstein, also 21, is another eligible bachelorette, equipped with an architecture degree from the prestigious Cambridge University.

Closer to the British Isles, Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones, the granddaughter of Princess Margaret, continues to captivate with her refined style, most recently seen at the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling, adding to the list of distinguished singles in Europe’s elite circles.

Princess Maria Chiara Di Bourbon-Two Sicilies, 21, is the daughter of Prince Carlo, Duke of Castro and Princess Camilla, Duchess of Castro.

Prince Carlo holds a claim to the now defunct throne of the former House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, a cadet branch of the Spanish royal family, which descends from the Capetian Dynasty and ruled over Southern Italy and Sicily during the 18th and 19th centuries.

Although the family has no official remit, they spend their time doing charity work and promoting the interest of Southern Italy.

The prince’s daughters enjoy a life of luxury, spending their time between Italy, Monaco, Paris and St Tropez, soaking up the sun, sporting designer labels and making the most of their families’ wealth.

They are also actively involved with charity work and rub shoulders with the most elite socialites of Europe, speaking fluently in English, French and Italian.

The two princesses want for nothing and are often showered with gifts from their doting parents for their birthdays. On their respective Instagram accounts, they share snaps of their holidays around the globe, from Paris to Dubai and New York.

The eldest, Maria Carolina, Duchess of Calabria and of Palermo – or Carolina for short – was born in 2003 in Rome. She is her father’s direct heir and will inherit his title and duties, as well as his claim to Head of the House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies.

Chiara, Duchess of Noto, who is two years younger, was also born in Rome, in 2005. She shares her sister’s passion for travelling and charity work and documents her love of fashion on Instagram.

Their mother, Duchess Camilla, born Crociani, is the daughter of Italian industry Tycoon Camilla Crociani and the actress Edy Vessel.

Now Lady Margarita Elizabeth Rose Alleyne Armstrong-Jones, the daughter of the Earl and Countess of Snowdon (and granddaughter of Princess Margaret) is a cool 20-year-old.

As well as being a keen photographer, Tatler details how she is off to Paris soon to do a jewellery making course.

She was pictured in 2017 exchanging warm words with the monarch at a service of thanksgiving for her grandfather, the late Lord Snowdon.

The usually low-key 20-year-old has been in the spotlight a little more than usual this year, after attending Prince Philip’s memorial service and the funeral events for the Queen.

Her father David joined other senior members of the royal family to walk behind the Queens’s coffin.

In 2020, it was announced Earl Snowdon has separated from his wife, Serena Alleyne Stanhope, whom he had married in 1993 at St Margaret’s Church in Westminster.

This year, he received the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal to mark his aunt’s 70 years on the throne.

The medal has been awarded to people who work in public service, including the Armed Forces, the emergency services, and the prison services as well as members of the royal household with more than one year of service and reserve members of the Armed Forces.

Together with her lookalike younger sister Princess Sofia, Princess Leonor, 20, has seen her public profile grow in recent years as she begins to step into her role as a future queen.

Born in 2005 in Madrid, Leonor is the eldest daughter of King Felipe, who ascended the throne in 2014 on the abdication of his father, Juan Carlos I, and his former news presenter wife Queen Letizia.

Leonor, who already speaks five languages, has become her father’s ‘right-hand girl’, taking to her royal duties with ‘enormous eagerness,’ the King previously revealed.

Just like her father, who first spoke publicly as a young prince in 1981, she made her first public speech at just 13 at an event marking the 40th anniversary of the Spanish constitution in 2018. The following year she delivered a speech in four languages.

The young princess has adopted her mother’s polished style and is often seen in pared back outfits with simple, clean lines.

Earlier this month, the princess received the title of Adoptive Daughter of San Javier, alongside the Gold Medal of the Town, after concluding her intensive Air Force training in San Javier.

As she is the heir to the throne, Leonor will one day take the title of Commander in Chief of the armed forces and therefore has to spend time in each section of defence.

Later this year, Leonor will begin a four-year university degree in Political Science at the Carlos III University of Madrid, the royal household confirmed.

At the Spanish university, Leonor will study courses in humanities, economics, sociology, history and international relations as she prepares for her future as queen, the statement said.

Last July, the Princess of Asturias received the Grand Cross of Naval Merit from her proud father, King Felipe, at the prestigious Naval Military Academy in Marín, Pontevedra.

The 31-year-old princess, who shares her lavish lifestyle with her 131,000 followers on Instagram, has previously revealed she ‘never uses’ her princess title, preferring to ‘be like everyone else’.

Melusine was born in Paris to French model Theresa Patricia Genest and the late Prince Alessandro Ruspoli, an eccentric aristocrat whose family titles reportedly date back more than 1,000 years.

Her father was a thrice-married ladies’ man and notorious partygoer whose social circle included American novelist Truman Capote, French actress and singer Brigitte Bardot and French poet Jean Cocteau.

Prince Alessandro, who also dabbled in acting and had a bit part in The Godfather: Part III (1990), died in 2005 at the age of 80.
