Mulberry handbags are enjoying a major fashion revival. Sales have climbed 18 per cent over the past six months, helped in part by the new Stevie bag, which contributed to a 10 per cent rise in the UK alone.
The British brand’s momentum extends well beyond the UK. In the US, Mulberry handbag sales increased by an impressive 28 per cent during the same six-month period.
The Princess of Wales also appears to be embracing the trend. During a royal engagement in Belfast last week, Kate carried Mulberry’s Amberley Satchel – the same design she took with her on the royal tour of Boston in 2022.
Kate has repeatedly shown how versatile a Mulberry bag can be. She previously carried a white version of the Amberley Satchel at Wimbledon, while a bright pink Mulberry hobo featured during a night out in 2008.
Her collection includes everything from polished chain-strap crossbody styles to roomy everyday totes.
The Princess of Wales is far from the only royal admirer. Zara Tindall carried the Amberley clutch at Royal Ascot in both 2025 and 2026, while the Duchess of Sussex chose a navy small Darley bag for the 2018 Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey.
So, satchel up – we’ve rounded up some of Kate’s most recently worn Mulberry bags, complete with outfit details and high street alternatives.

Only a few days ago, the Princess of Wales carried Mulberry’s green leather Amberley Satchel during a royal engagement in Belfast.
She styled it with an Emilia Wickstead pleated tartan maxi skirt and a ruffled silk blouse by Knatchbull.
The bag beautifully completed her ensemble, while its deep green shade offered a typically thoughtful touch of diplomatic dressing by paying tribute to Ireland.
M&S currently has an excellent high street alternative to Kate’s tartan skirt.

For anyone who favours a practical carryall over a tiny clutch, Mulberry’s Bayswater Tote is a far more useful choice for everyday life.
While there is no guarantee it could accommodate the floor-length lamp carried by the famously well-equipped Mary Poppins, the spacious design should easily hold daily essentials such as a lunch box, makeup and books.
Kate carried the tote during a royal visit to Pontypridd in South Wales in 2025. The bag has remained just as stylish since then, with a timeless, elegant quality that mirrors the princess’s own fashion choices.
For the Welsh engagement, she teamed it with a red Alexander McQueen coat and Gianvito Rossi boots – an outfit built around several of her trusted designer favourites.

Although the Princess of Wales is particularly good at coordinating accessories with her outfits, a classic black handbag remains one of the most dependable pieces in any wardrobe: sleek, understated and endlessly versatile.
The mother of three demonstrated the enduring appeal of the black handbag earlier this year, carrying Mulberry’s Small Amberley Crossbody while welcoming Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu to the UK.
The elegant bag brought a welcome contrast to her otherwise grey outfit. Kate paired it with a Tolu Coker double-breasted blazer coat, a bespoke Jane Taylor hat, teardrop earrings inspired by her late mother-in-law Diana, and Boss shoes that have sadly been discontinued.
